My hexagonal prism

I enjoyed making my own 3 dimensional shape. I made a hexagonal prism by creating a net and cutting it. I then folded the edges on the lines perfectly.

I made a Hexagonal prism shape. My hexagonal prism shape has 8 faces, 18 edges and 12 vertices. This is a photo of my own hexagonal prism shape.

Boxes are made to hold or store things. Boxes are used for packaging.

I had so much fun doing this.

THE PIG'S TROUGH

WALT: find the morale of the story
SC: find the hidden purpose of a story.

The Pig’s Trough a German Folk Story retold by the brothers Grimm, retold by Jack Lasenby SJ P1 N2 1992

The son and son’s wife were kind to the old man
Dissagree
Because they were ashamed of the grandfather and the grandfather son and son wife. they didn’t care about their grandfather

The old man was very healthy
Dissagree
Because the old Man couldn’t close his mouth properly and his ear couldn’t hear as well.He could not walk properly and he just sat down on his chair next to the fire.

The parents were good role models for their son
Agree
Because the grandson was looking after his own grandfather

It is important to care for our elders.
Agree
Because they might have the same thing like the old Man couldn’t close his mouth properly and his ear couldn’t hear as well.He could not walk properly and he just sat down on his chair next to the fire.

HENRY THE EXPLORER

      HENRY THE EXPLORER

The searchers could not find Henry. Henry was lost in the cave , he had to be so quiet or the bears will wake up and do something to Henry. Henry was so cold and hungry. Henry was in the cave all night he had no food , no water no shelter. Henry had nothing to eat or drink so he stayed in the cave until the morning and then he woke up.

It was the next morning he was so hungry and thirsty he hadn’t eaten for days. Once Henry found a bear and then killed it and he made a fire and cooked the bear. But the meat inside the bear was so yuck! When he was thirsty he drank the bear's blood. It was so disgusting  when Henry first touched it.

So that’s how hungry and thirsty he was and now he is not thirsty or hungry.  He lived in the cave forever and then he found his way to home. BY PELENISE AND SALESI

Visit To Glen Innes Library

On Wednesday the 5 of august 2015  , room 7 from Glenbrae Primary School went to G.I library. We went in to a bus to get there and plus we sang a song that's called wheels on the bus goes round and round. When we got out from the bus room 7 had to line up outside from the Te Oro and head straight away to G.I library. Room 7 went inside then we sat on the mat to listen up to the teacher that's explaining what are we going to do for today in the library.

First we were listening to kaiako people. Then the kaiako showed us how to use the rakau and the patu. Next there was the kaiaki gave us the rakau and showed us how to use it. The rakau was a bamboo stick and the patu you wrapped around your hand then you hold it tightly.

The kaiako people told us a story about how are we going to kill the enemy. The people with the patu were practising what to do with the patu. There was an Princess Amelia and Prince Danny who they were fighting for.

I enjoyed learning to use the patu, but the rakau people were defending  our moves.
